In Mumbai, a screening of the RT Doc documentary film “Speak Out! Faina Savenkova’s story” took place in the conference hall of the Russian House.
This is a story by war documentary filmmaker Klim Poplavsky about a 17‑year‑old writer from Lugansk, most of whose life has been spent in wartime conditions. At the same time, Faina began writing at the age of ten. In her stories and plays, she describes how the children of Donbas live— children whose childhoods have been taken away by war. Her works have been translated into many foreign languages. At the age of 12, she sent a video message to the UN, calling on ths organization to remember that children in Donbas also have the right to childhood and a peaceful life.
After watching the film, an online conversation was organized between Faina Savenkova and students and teachers from universities in Mumbai. During the discussion, the meeting participants were keenly interested in the situation in Lugansk, Donetsk, and Mariupol, as well as the conditions people have to live in. Special attention was paid to children’s opportunities to attend schools.
Associate Professor at the University of Mumbai, Dr. Shoaib Khan, also shared his personal experience of visiting Donetsk in 2024, noting the beauty of the nature and the high tourism potential of the region.
The meeting participants expressed moral support for Faina and wished for an early normalization of life in Donbas. Faina thanked them for their kind words and wishes.
The meeting was held with the support of the Lugansk State University named after Vladimir Dal.

В Мумбаи в конференц-зале Русского дома состоялся кинопоказ документального фильма RT Doc «Не молчи! История Фаины Савенковой».
Это рассказ военного документалиста Клима Поплавского о 17-летней писательнице из Луганска, большая часть жизни которой проходит в условиях войны. При этом с десяти лет Фаина начала писать. В своих рассказах и пьесах она описывает, как живут дети Донбасса, у которых война отняла детство. Её произведения переведены на многие иностранные языки. В 12 лет она отправила видеообращение в ООН с призывом помнить, что дети Донбасса также имеют право на детство и мирную жизнь.
После просмотра фильма была организована онлайн-беседа Фаины Савенковой со студентами и преподавателями вузов Мумбаи. В ходе общения участники встречи живо интересовались ситуацией в Луганске, Донецке, Мариуполе и условиями, в которых людям приходиться жить. Особое внимание было уделено возможностям детей посещать школы.
Доцент университета Мумбаи, д-р Шоаиб Хан, рассказал также о своем личном опыте посещения Донецка в 2024 г., отметил красоту природы и высокий туристический потенциал региона.
Участники встречи выразили моральную поддержку Фаине и пожелали скорейшей нормализации жизни на Донбассе. Фаина поблагодарила за добрые слова и пожелания.
Встреча состоялась при поддержке Луганского государственного университета имени Владимира Даля.
